Pillips is a smart pill organizer with water bottle and mechanical counter to help you keep in track of your medication. The pill box comes with a bar code that you can scan to show your prescription, making carrying your pills around hassle free.

THE PROBLEM.
55 % of Americans regularly take prescription medicine every day. Besides prescription drugs, people take 4, on average, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins and other dietary supplements everyday.
Taking pills throughout the day requires people to carry them around with them in pill containers and prescription bottles. However, some states have laws making it illegal for you to carry around pills that are not in their labeled prescription bottle and without a prescription.
Started with making sketch models out of waste and got inspiration by exploring kinetic movement/interactions of the product.

MY ROLE.
This was an individual project Industrial Design: Commercial Practices. The project goal was to pick a company, conduct design language research and design a product for that company (Philips) based on form exploration and research. I conducted research, form exploration, sketch modeling, sketching, prototyping, rendering.

Mechanical Counter
Pillips has a mechanical counter set backwards in the bottom of the bottle.
In order for getting a pill, user has to rotate the bottom part of the bottle and the mechanical counter adjusts the number of pills left based on the rotations providing the user feedback and helping them keep track of the number of pills left.
Pill Container
It comes with detachable pill container that can be inserted from the bottom of the bottle. It can be divided into 6 sub compartments for prescriptions for more than a single type of medicine.
Prescriptions
Scannable QR code at the bottom.
The Pill container is sealed and can be picked up from a pharmacy. It has a QR code on the bottom of the container, which on scanning shows the user's prescription online, allowing users to carry pills around hassle free without having to carry their physical prescriptions.
FINAL DESIGN.
Designed in the design language of Philips, Pillips is a smart pill organizer and water bottle with a mechanical counter that allows users to carry their pills around easily!
